eddie:
Congratulations on the weight loss. I made it to the gym 3 days this past week. Had some good workouts. I've been on the road since Friday, so I haven't been able to get a chance to get on the scales, but I feel like I've lost some. Diet is the hard thing while on the road.

Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in
Well this hasn't been a good week for me. I only have gotten in a few walks. I have been in Ft. Smith
at a band director convention from Wed. to Fri. at noon. I got one pretty good walk in there from the
down town Holiday Inn to Judge Parkers court. That was a neat walk. I had tree dizzy spells on Fri.
that I feel was from being dehydrated. All seems fine now. As far a diet, what diet? I have to get back
on it this week. I did walk (march) a parade with my students Sat. morning here in Dierks and didn't pass
out, I guess that counts a exercise! I don't know what my weight loss is at this time, the scales are at
the school. The wife says that I have lost some of my mid section so I guess that I am trimming up. Any
way it is now time to get serious.
Just checked the scales. I have lost a total of 6 lbs. since I started. Being that when we actually started this I had gained a pound. So I started at 256 instead of 255. No real diet as of yet, mainly cutting back and walking. I can't run like alot of you guys due to my knee replacement. I am down to 250. Will really get serious now.

Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in
I was traveling to New Orleans last week so the diet was shot. (I am a big fan of cajun food) I walked in the evenings but the net effect was not good.
Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in
Funny that you were in New Orleans last week. For most of the week I was in Ft. Smith. And yes the diet was shot!

Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in
Doing great. Ran a lot this week, and the weights are getting boring. The diet now tastes like hay, cardboard, and water (I look forward to the water ). Think its time to switch it up a little bit.
Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in
Yes stuck to the plan and increased my walking milage. Also am walking up some
good pretty good inclines at the dam at Dierks Lake.

Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in
I totally wimped out this week. I failed.
NOTE: I'm posting the scores for the week before last and this passed week at the same time. Everyone gets a point for the week before last since it was so gosh-dang hot, but only Wilky, Seeking, and Ouachita get points for last week. Good job guys! Keep it up!

Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in
Current weight: 249 started at 255.
Am up to 3.5 miles walking per day. Had a great week as far as walking goes.
School starts Monday and the diet will really kick in.

Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in
Got back real late from hiking last night. Guess I missed out on check in. Oh well. I still stayed on schedule. Even ate healthy on the trail this weekend. Sorry I missed...oh well.
Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in
Wilky,
You were off the hook for this week anyway because you were backpacking. Remember? Anyone who goes backpacking automatically gets their point for the week.
But you do need to post your weight change up to now though.

Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in

Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in
Well as far as the diet goes I didn't do as good this week. I do great till night gets here. Exercise went as well as could be expected with the rain we got this week. I did walk three miles this morning so I will say that I am not deserving of points this week...

Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in
I am back from Colorado. I definately stayed on my diet and got plenty of exercise. It will take me a day or two to get pics and a trip report put together.
Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in
good week. diet went well and workout the same. also i saw where i was suppose to report my weight before. I didn't get to weigh the day of the last weigh-in, but my weight log has me being ten pounds lighter that friday before.
Re: Backcountry Fitness Challenge 2008 Check-in
Hey challengers!
Looks like a lot of you guys had a good fitness week! Way to go!
It will probably be Monday before I'll be home to update the scores and stuff (and get your weight change updated willky) so I'll just post for everything for last week and this week at that time.
Way to hang in there everybody. I'm still working on the t-shirt situation, but I'm sure we'll have it all worked out and ready to go for the winner(s)!
