Hiking Classes Empty Re: Hiking Classes

I went to a night class at UCA a few years ago on packing. He had no personal equiptment other that an old MSR pump up stove and a tent from the 80's so we used my stuff as the demo stuff. He had heard of jetboil but never seen one and when I started talking about a Trangia stove his head turned to one side like your dog does. Thought that was the coolest thing he had ever seen. About 20 in the class so it was fun.

I figure that is why we have these forums, as long as you have "common" sense, you can learn a lot from forums. I thank you guys that I can learn so much, and save money, by not buying equipment that I do not need or will not like. But, if one is in college, and needs some hours, a backpacking class would be awesome.
