Re: OH's gear list
If it was me, I would only take the clothes I was wearing. If you get to where you cannot stand the dirty-ness(?), it'll be warm during the day so you could just dip a quick drying shirt in the water and "clean" it that way. This is just a comfort level thing, but if you do drop the extra clothes, that'll save you 1.5 lbs (24 oz). Also, how are you going to filter water?
Y'all have fun and remember us guys stuck behind desks !

Kyle,
The reason for the extra clothing is with the recent rains in OK and AR (like right now!) and with the crossing of the Kiamichi River (8 times!) plus numeous creeks I had trown in the extra clothes. And I might still leave them out.
The water filter, I will take the tablets. Mark Davis will have a water filter anyway so that is covered.

Great list. Like willky, the only thing that I would perhaps leave at home are the extra clothes. I would definitely bring extra socks. The only other thing that I would think that you might change, with no extra cost, would be the possibility of changing to a small bottle of bleach (mine weighs .35 oz.) instead of the Aqua Mira. I know this is just a couple of ounces, but bleach does treat water faster with less fuss.
Again, great looking list overall,

UL,
As far as the bleach goes how much would you add per liter? I hadn't thought about bleach.
I might just leave out the extra clothes.

One drop per liter of water is adequate, except for the foulest of water sources. You can use a bandana or coffee filter to strain out the big floaters. If the chlorine taste bothers you, add a sports drink mix to hike the taste.

Re: OH's gear list
Sounds great to me. The only suggestions that I could make is a DIY hammock the weighs half as much, but that is not a big deal. Sounds like fun, and I know about the rain, it went thrugh here with a furry a little while ago.
I too want to try the bleach way, and am plannng on trying it out really soon. OH, more socks too

I am very interested in the bleach. Has anyone tested water after it was treated.

Dfield:
Here's a link for the treatment of water with chlorine. They recommend 2 drops per liter for clean water. By clean, they mean clear. If you are treating cloudy or muddy water, then it will take more.
