Question for tomorrow....Today
Ok,
We all carry the basics, food, shelter, water and purification, sleeping bag and pack. I am curious what other people carry for critter comfort. I myself like to read in the evenings so I carry a book, and light chair on very short hikes or a piece of blue foam pad for a seat. I also like a cigar around campfires (standing rule cigars around campfires only).

They are nice slippers. I would LOVE to find a light weight alternative to them.

Sit pad and my iPod Shuffle for me. I usually bring something to read too. Sorry TM no slippers here .
Re: Question for tomorrow....Today
I cant expect everyone to get the same enjoyment as me from a pair of slippers... Just after 15 miles they do feel OMG good to the feet though. I also wash my feet everyday no matter how cold the water is... right Rodger hahahaha

I second the cigar, but now I am liking my pipe. My neighbor boy always carries a pack of cards and we sit around the fire and play. Hillbilly, come hike with me at Devil's Den and I will be sure to bring some Padron Anniversarios or Ashton VSG's, just don't tell my wife
Re: Question for tomorrow....Today
Well I guess it would be a sit pad for me. Some times a book. Also my Tvea's.

Re: Question for tomorrow....Today
I'm glad that in my hammock I do not have sleepless nights I also carry either a small Bible or I put different Bible books on my mp3 player. When I solo a trail that I have been on a lot, I usually listen to the Bible the whole time. If I am with a bunch of guys that haven't been backpacking much, I sometimes take some extra good food for them, like Spaghetti or bacon and eggs. I use the new pre-cooked bacon, and pack the eggs VERY carefully after hard boiling them. For the Spaghetti, I use a canned sauce, and after rinsing it out really good, I pack the can out of course.

Yeah, I know what you mean about the sleepless nights Dwight. I have no prob. droping off. In fact, if I were to try to read while on the trail I wouldn't get past the first sentence. I will tell all you guys, Preacha does eat good on the trail but not near as well as me when I am on the Buffalo right Preacha. lol

Right . Something that Amanda found for the kids is easymac. She microwaves it for them, but I am sure that you can cook it using boiling water. My kids love it, and it is really thick and cheesy. Might do the trick for all you macaroni and cheese lovers.
Re: Question for tomorrow....Today
Well I have thought alot about this. With my limited amount of time on the trail the main thing that I have come up with is a comfortable place to sit. These seem to be non-existant on the trail.
