Alico Tahoe hiking boots Empty Alico Tahoe hiking boots

These boots aren't easily broken in, they aren't flexable, they don't have glued soles, they are Norwegian welt boots.
For those that don't know these are made the way boots used to be made!
O, one more thing they are heavy. At least heavier than those Chinese made glued on soles that are out there now. But they will last a very, very , very long time. I am going back to my roots. What used to work for me. Had Fabianos in the 70's, they were built like a tank. These are great on all of the rocks and bolders in the Ouachitas. They aren't for everyone but they work for me. By the way I got them at Sierra Trading post. And I water proof them with Snow Seal.

I can't seem to get the picture on here so go to: http://www.sierratradingpost.com/p/,63669_Alico-Tahoe-Hiking-Boots-For-Men.html

Just a quick note on these boots. By all accounts these boots should not be broken in by now. I have had them a couple of months. Walked in them some around the campground that I live at. Took one hike of about 3 miles of moderate difficulty. We hiked between 8 and 9 miles Sun. and had no hot spots at all. That is very unusual for me. Had some problems with my right heal but that is due to severe cracking in the heal that I have been fighting for years, not a boot problem. Also had alot of rock and bolder walking, was extremly stable. Also had no problems with my toes hitting the front of the boots, esp. with all of the down heal hiking. If you want a stable boot that will outlast most of your other gear and can be easily resoled then this is your boot!
