Beech Creek Trail System
This is a series of interconnecting loop trails with up to 32.5 mi. possible. I've been looking at this area for a while, it is in OK just across the AR/OK border, south of OK Hwy 63, not too far from Mena. Doesn't sound like it gets a lot of use and some of it is pretty rough, sounds like an interesting possibility to me. Anybody interested in an exploratory trip, maybe the end of March?

Hopefully, I'll get a chance to ease over there and do some scouting in the next couple of weeks. I haven't even looked at the topos of the area real close yet. May do that right now.

Yep, it looks pretty rough in a few places. How could not go to a trail called Turkey Snout Loop though. Just the name makes me want to go.

I didn't see any real BIG elevation gains though... not anything like Brush Heap or Mt. McKinney.. they both are over 1100ft gain in a few miles. The bigest here I spoted was a 500 I think... Unless I just missed something.

From what I hear these trails aren't maintained all that well. Might be tough in the summer on a overgrown, poorly blazed trail. Not to mention the ticks and chiggers.
