willky:
I called around for you today, but it's out of print, so it's going to be hard to find. In the meantime, you might try Ray's website, www.rayjardine.com .
Alot of his pack kits and tarp kits and other ideas are on that site.
And remember, you're always welcome to borrow my copy.

Dadgum willky, I just went to amazon.com and could not believe the price for Ray's book, even used. I paid $19.95 for my copy. I'm going to have to look at some of the other books that I have. I may be sitting on a gold mine. Laughing

haha well don't sell ray's book till I get a look at it. I am going to keep looking for a copy to buy because I'm the type person who likes to read with a pen (I've gotta underline when I read Very Happy).

Ray Jardine's Book Empty Re: Ray Jardine's Book

It was one of the first books that showed the benefits of lightweight and ultralight backpacking. Ray has a lot of good ideas in the book. Some not so good, like corn pasta. He also got on his soapbox a few times in the book regarding food and some of the chemicals and preservatives that are added to them. He's quite the health nut.
As far as gear ideas, most of what he shows in the book are available on his website. And remember, it was Ray and this book that gave birth to the company, GoLite.

Yeah, that is what i was wondering. I figured, since this book is kind of old, that most of the info could be found elsewhere, but I'm sure it would still be a nice book to have around.
