It was reported last night aprox 100 acres of the Butterfield Trail was burned. Looked like someone left a camp fire going around the camp site they said. I can't think of anything witty to say so I will leave it to you all.. Figg

Nooooo. . . .It would seem right all the weekend warriors that go out there and then I have to clean up all their trash. I just hope that it didn't kill any big trees and buds. Now I need to do a search and look to see what part was burned.

Hiking through burnt areas is kinda dull, give me the green.

I talked with Devil's Den, and they say all it amounted to was an unplanned controlled burn up on Holt Ridge. If it did get any of the Butterfield, it would only have been a little bit up on top of the hill, near mile 3.5-4. There is a Jeep Road that goes along Holt Ridge called Holt Road, so it could have been anyone that could have driven in there. They told me that no major damage was done, and it basically burned the leaf cover, spread over 98 acres.
