Caney Creek Wilderness Trip
Ok I am planning on going into the Caney Creek Wilderness area this week. Probably will be Tuesday
morning, I have some things that I must do on Monday. I want to start on the Buckeye Trail and
from there is anyones guess! I want to camp the first night above Katy Falls. I would like to go west
but if the water is up I will change my plans. I thought about checking out the old trail some
also. I will be doing some trail work BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO! Best guess is to come out at the
E. trail head Fri. morning or afternoon.
As you can see I am flexible and you can come out at anytime. Let me know if you like to go.
The weather doesn't look bad for the week. Weather.com shows at the most 30% chance of
showers and accuweather.com doesn't even show a chance. Since I will have my trailworking
tools, including a saw firewood won't be a problem!
Let me know here...

Re: Caney Creek Wilderness Trip
I would also like to mention that I am not trying to take anyone away from the Mt. Magazine
trip! I need to stay close to home. I have a wilderness area within 45 min. of the camper,
should I say more? If anyone might like to hike a day or to and still make the Magazine trip
for the weekend you are welcome. If not I don't mind hiking solo! Still a little concerned
about my knee and this will be a good test.

Re: Caney Creek Wilderness Trip
The National WX Service is now calling for up to a inch of snow Tuesday night. I will be
in Caney Creek......... wwwwwwwwwwwoooooooooooo hhhhhhhhhhhoooooooooooo!!!!!!!
I stayed out in my hammock last night and the low, at least when I got out was twenty
degrees....... I was toasty warm... Slept like a baby..
I am ready... bring it on...... looks like I will be by myself.. I will take plenty of pics.....

Re: Caney Creek Wilderness Trip
Well I made it back. No snow. Just rain and very foggy weather. Took a bad tumble
on the Buckeye Trail were a section of trail gave out from under me. Banged up my
right knee (the replaced one) and scraped up my right calf pretty bad. I just kept
putting one foot in front of the other I new that if I stopped that would be it for me!
I will post pics in the morning...
