Dierks Tornado Pics
Ok guys I got the pics uploaded on webshots.
This is the road into the park, we cleared it the next day.
That is two large oak trees down across the Saline river.
Looking up the side of the dam, I walk up that way some times. Will have to wait awile before I do it again!
Road to the top of the ridge, after the rescue crew cleared a path down it around 1:00 in the morning.
At the Corp. office
View from the top of the dam, the camper in the upper left of pic is ours, we had no damage! We were close!
Water treatment plant, what is left of it. There was a second floor but it is now in the woods, there are steel beams
wraped around pine trees!
If you want to view the complete album go HERE.

Re: Dierks Tornado Pics
Dwight,
The damage in the pics was with the tornado not even being on the ground! I have been told that there is a place near here that the tornado was on the ground and it is just awsome the damage that it has caused. Thank goodness that the damage was mainly timber. It will recover in time. I haven't heard of any injuries here.

Ed,
No Elec. yet, I hope by Wed. or thur. But we will probably be out of water by the morning. Our fresh water tank is filled but I don't know how long that will last. I just found out that we will be busing the students to Gillium (the other side of Dequeen going towards Mena) for school. The elem. kids will stay in their building in Dierks. It is going to be a real big mess. The teachers are going in to meet at nine in the morning and we will find out.

Man I thought about you all when I heard about Mena area getting hit. Glad you all are alright.
Re: Dierks Tornado Pics
yep, we were lucky. The tornado jumped over us. We have two bluffs. one behind us (E) and one in front of us (W). By the way I see that this is your first post. Welcome to the board. Do I know you from the Arkansas hiking yahoo board? In anycase I will be going to Mena this weekend for the primiative tool workshop. I will see that distruction first hand. I don't have high hopes that the OT didn't get hit, esp around Rich mt.
