I snapped these on my way down to my fiancee's UCA graduation last weekend. It was pretty wild. These are just south of Southside High School on 65.

Well, there's your problem... you're on a Mac! Get back home and get back on that Dell before it gets jealous!

darreth:
Thanks for posting these awesome pics. The church was our family church back in the 70s. They had just finished a huge remodeling of the church a month or so ago. The barn (probably couldn't tell it was a barn) across the highway from the church was a training facility and they lost all of two horses when the tornado hit.
BTW, for you trivia buffs, if you remember back to September, 1980, the Titan II missile silo that blew up is about 1/2 mile to the north of that church. That will wake your ass up in a hurry!! affraid

I've been driving back and forth a couple times a month from Springfield to NLR since August so I had kinda been watching the progress on the church. I thought I read in the ArDemGaz that they weren't done yet and would be ready to go sometime later this year? Either way I'm sure it's pretty disheartening for them.

Yeh, it may have looked finished the last time I went by there. They may have been working on the inside. I hadn't been there in awhile. This area has been hit pretty hard by tornados over the last few years. Had one back in December '05 that damaged several homes just north of the church about 2 miles. It crossed Hwy. 65 just to the north of Snappy's on the side of the mountain as you climb out of Bee Branch. Got within 200 yards of my house (moved since then) and took out a dairy barn just to the north of us.
