Have any of you guys checked out THIS gravity filter? $45.00 good for 200 gal. instead of only 50 gl. Anyway this looks like a good option.

A lot of hammock campers use this one and even make their own. The Frontier Pro may not last as long, but it is lighter and only cost $20 to replace. I find myself moving so fast lately that I will either go with bleach drops, or stick with iodine tabs. With the Iodine tabs, all my water was clean when I stopped the next time, so I would drink up, and then refill. I really try to tank up on water, and then only carry about a liter. On my last trip I found myself carrying a lot of water that I never used, until I was by another water source. Most of the time that meant 3 pounds that I didn't really have to be carrying in my pack.

Yes, there a lot of people who use/make something like this. I have thought a few times about scrapping my hiker pro, taking out the filter element, and making one. But I haven't yet. One guy has even made a water bag out of Cuban Fiber for this type of set up.
