Hey uh... Trail Relic how many months were you out on the trail? Dude.... that is serious.... hahahaha. We need a "Lighten Your Load" clinic next... an I ain't talking in the restroom hahaha. Nice pics OH... Makin me wish I still had my ol Kelty External. That thing was a tank... is a tank... I guess the guy I gave it to is still using it. Its about a 81 model... anywho, keep up the good work. I was thinking of soloing the Eagle Rock next weekend, seeing how I cant seem to get anyone to go with me. Oh well..

TM,
That pack of mine even as old as it is it is only 4 lbs. in weight, I know that is heavy but by the standards back then that was light. And my pack coming out only weighed 22 lbs. Not bad for carrying winter gear. It sure is comfortable.

See thats not bad at all.... 22lbs is a gooddddd number even for the sub 2lb packs. Though it might have been a little heavy for a overnighter lol. Prob. had a tent huh lol. My Kelty that I am using right now as my main pack is right at about 3lbs I think. When Rodger and I did the BRT on New Years my total pack weight for the 3 days was around 28lbs. But I had a few extra clothes. Even more than I needed. But it did get down to about 21 22 degrees. So I would rather had to many. lol

Great pics OH, I know that you all had fun, but I could not imagine carrying all that weight. I guess I am too spoiled now to my 15 pounds for 3 day pack. I have been trying to figure out a fishing pole using my trekking poles, kinda like a cane pole, but if I have time to fish, I have time to hike.

Ahh, welcome to the "light" side. Now you guys are starting to see what I've been "preachin".
Anyway, those are some great pics, OH. Glad you guys had a great time, in spite of the weather.

Well guys I will say this about pack weight. I always strive to lighten my pack. I have to work within the confines of what I have. At this time I can't afford to go out and buy new gear. When the temps drop some I will be going quite lighter.
