Food, What is your norm.
There has been alot of discussion about MRE, heavy food loads etc. I thought I would ask about everyones food staples on the trail. I need new ideas. I think this has been brought up before but could not find the thread.
These are some of my norms:( I do not carry this all at one time )
Knorr Alfredo noodle mixes with a foil pack of tuna added.
Oatmeal for breakfast
Bagles and peanut butter
Water only pancake mix.
Honey in a small nalgene bottle.
Dehydrated hamburger mixed with minute rice and a brown gravy packet
Tortillas and tuna. I have mayonaise packets and relish packets to add
Decaffinated tea for the evenings
Coffee for the mornings.
Electrolyte drink mixes
Spam individual in foil pack
precooked bacon
Summer sausage and cheese and crackers for lunch
Clif bars
trailmix
granola bars
A friend steered me onto a new thought for those with a sweet tooth. Instant pudding with instant milk. Mix all of the dry ingredients into a ziplock and add the correct amount of water on the trail.

Re: Food, What is your norm.
I almost always carry some type of Knorr (?) rice package. I usually add a foil package of chicken. A lot like your noodles and tuna. The only thing I don't like about tuna for the trail is that the smell seems to say with you. I also just got a dehydrator, so I am going to start trying to dehydrate some meals and see what works.

IDAHOAN MASHED POTATOES.
From there, you can add pretty much anything you like with it for a fantastic dinner.
Breakfast is usually a cold granola cereal, that I've already added dried blueberries, chopped walnuts, and Nido powdered milk to. Just add water.
Lunch is usually just snacks, like beef sticks, dried mangos, and trail mix.

I like to add a ranch dressing packet instead of mayo to tortillos and tuna. I like it so much I eat it for lunch at home alot.
Kyle,
One time I had tuna for lunch and inflated my thermorest by mouth for a nap, lets just say that deflation was not pleasant and I smelled tuna the rest of the day. wheeewww

Re: Food, What is your norm.
I usually do oatmeal for winter breakfasts, and granola cereal with dehydrated milk for summer breakfast.
Lunches are usually granola bars, dried papaya spears, beef jerky, trail mix, whatever.
Dinners are Ramen noodles with re-hydrated beef jerky, or dehyrated vegetarian chili mix with dehydrated refried beans.
I ALWAYS carry coffee with me, I have 5-6 packs ALWAYS in my first aide kit just in case, along with some beef and chicken buillion packs.

Oatmeal for breakfast (Blueberry is my favorite)
Protein/Energy Bar for lunch (Honey Stingers are a great brand.)
Mountain House Dinners. (I transfer them to ziplock bags instead of the oversized bags that they come in.)
