The Preacha is going to the Devil's Den!!!
Just wanted yall to know that I am heading out here in a little while after church to go to the den. I will be hiking some different mountain bike and horse trails, and catching back up on the Butterfield along the way. I hope to do about 20 miles, but it more than likely be around 15. I will post how many I went when I get back tomorrow night.

Re: The Preacha is going to the Devil's Den!!!
Ok I am back! What a great trip, this has been my first overnighter with a full pack since I lost all my weight (all 52 pounds now ). My neighbor and I was able to hike 3 miles Sunday afternoon before it got too dark. We got us a fire going and I cooked us up some vegetarian chili with instant refried beans. Last night was cold, but we stayed really warm. We had to cross Blackburn creek about 12 times today, but luckily we did it without getting too wet. We went along Blackburn creek to a little past Junction Camp (7 miles), and then we turned onto another set of trails that led us up to Holt Road, from Holt Road, we headed back to the truck (8 miles).
I was really amazed that we did 15 miles by 2pm today. It really helps to lose weight and to have a 12 pound pack with food and water. Next time we hope to do the Butterfield and do it again but stop at Junction Camp the first day. That would be a total of 21 miles in one day. If we can do that well, and not be tired, then we will try to do the Buffalo in 2 days this late spring. Oh well, wishes, and what a way to get the miles up for the BCFC!
