Chaco's Empty Chaco's

Post by snowsurfer1973 Sun Apr 13, 2008 2:23 pm

I hike in Chaco's all year unless I am in the snow. I hate big beefy boots and trail shoes. I have rolled my ankle numerous times while wearing boots or shoes and never once with my Chaco's. I have learned to be so stable on my feet by where I step. Even with a fourty five pound pack on I am more stable in my Chaco's than any boot I ever had. I used to be a custom boot fitter when I worked for Eastern Mountain Sports and had the knowlege to put myself in a perfect fit boot, but still Chaco's are the way to go. So light and free I love it.

Chaco's Empty Re: Chaco's

I second the hiking in chaco's notion. I have been doing it for about a year now, and one thing that I love about them is that in warmer weather I'm not trying to miss the puddles or tip-toing through creeks and streams. They're the exact opposite of waterproof and I love it!

Finally someone else who likes the Chaco's way of life. You nailed it perfectly about the opposite of waterproof. It makes complete sense. Why struggle to try to keep your feet dry when it can be ok for them to get wet. When I am hiking with people in trail shoes and we come to a stream crossing it always makes me giggle to watch them look for the best way across when I march right through. Your feet and sandals dry quick and no BLISTERS. You learn to be very swift on your feet and have a great knowlege of foot placement on rocky terrain. I have converted many into Chaco hiking and am sure many will follow. I have hiked long distances with mine and am allways impressed with how they perform. Thanks for the back-up willky.
