Trailrelic Empty Trailrelic

Post by ouachita hiker Fri Apr 17, 2009 5:02 pm

Well I hope that Mark posts soon but since some of us guys have been worried about Trailrelic (Mark Adams) I thought I would post this update. Mark was to hike the ERL last weekend with a Sierra Club group from Dallas TX. I spoke to him by cell phone this afternoon. Lucky he got a later than usual start last Thursday because he came in behink the tornado that hit us here at Dierks Lake. He would have been on the open road when it hit otherwise. He did encounter aprox. a mile of trees down on 298 going to the ERL, at least that is what I think he said the reception was getting spotty at that time. He and his group came thru it ok. He started the ERL but he, like me, has been having foot problems and had to cut it short. Plus they had heavy rains last Sun. He did mention that another Sierra Club group had gone into Caney Creek and even though they were caught by heavy rains, not a good place to be with heavy precept! They had to make to the ridges to get out. They didn't encounter any tornado damage.

The main thing is that all are safe!

Glad to hear that he and everyone made it out of there ok. It would have been pretty tough out on the trail during all that mess.
