Experiences with chemical toilets!
Just thought I would pass this on, nothing to do with backpacking.
Since Dierks has had a water shortage since the tornado of a week ago the school, got to do our part, when we came back Wed. decided to go with the chemical toilet and keep the students our of the restrooms. This has been hilarious! Wed. I had a student that "needed to go", well the guys toilets are outside of my room, girls on the other side of the building, I heard some bumping noise. Ended up a Sr., the boy is a 8th grader, decided to ram the door with all of his might with his sholder, the door jammed! Well I had to hunt for the right tool to unjam the door but we ended up getting him out! The guys got in trouble Now the most common way to lock up another student is to place a ink pen or pencil thru the lock rings outside. Kids can be inventive!
By the way as a update on our water situation there has been two water filtration units from the Air Force National Guard installed at the water treatment plant. This is supposed to get us back up and running. They don't have the capacity of the system prior to the tornado but it is better than it is now. At the park that we live at we have NO water at the moment. The valve that controls the water to the two parks on our end of the lake was destroyed by the tornado.

Re: Experiences with chemical toilets!
At least no one got tipped over !!! Amanda was grossed out because I called her from the gravity toilet in Ozark campgrounds, and while I was in there I ate my breakfast Kids can be cruel to each other can't they, as well as other hikers. I nearly killed my neighbor boy once when he snapped a pic of me squatting over a log. Lets just say it was his camera or his life !!! Preachers can be mean when they are provoked
I do hope that you will have water soon
