Cracked Heels Empty Cracked Heels

Ok it is my turn to ask advice. I have, has been much worse, bad cracked heals. This goes back to my days of being very overweight. I have been working on my heals for at least a cpl of years. I have been using Bag Balm, found in the pet section at Wal Mart. This is the only thing that I have found that will do any good at all.
Anybody know of anything else available? Creams don't even began to faze it.

The heals are better. On the hike that Jay and we took Sun. My right heal, the worst one, was hurting by the end of the day. Of course we had hiked 7 to 8 miles by then so it is probably normal for this old gezzer.

The only thing I've ever heard of for cracked heels is basically super-gluing them closed so they have a chance to heal from the inside without being opened up more and more by the crack on the outside. It worked for a friend of mine, but your case may be different Tom, so I don't really know.

But I'm glad they're doing better!

Ouachita:
Try using an anti-fungal cream. Sometimes the cracks in heels can be caused by a form of athlete's foot. Not necessarily the type that causes the burning and itching symptoms, but a type that causes the skin on the sole of the foot to become thin and the heels to crack. Worth a try. I had something similar to this and the anti-fungal cream really helped.
