No blooms at my house
Lost our 8 year old Redbud in the "Great Ice Storm of '09"
I have seen some dogwoods blooming. Shame...supposed to get cold again. Another ice storm is predicted this month in the Farmers Almanac. The prediction for the January storm was off by one day!

My grand dad use to say that blooming dogwoods means that the crappie are biting and they are blooming here.

They are up here a lot. I hope to see a lot of things blooming on my hike soon, but I am afraid that the bugs will be "blooming" too.

We saw several Dogwood and Redbuds blooming on our hike today. We also ran across three snakes and a bunch of ticks. The snakes were great but I hate ticks! (Sigh) Time to break out the DEET.

I hate both, I hate snakes . Oh well, its not like I haven't walked around them before. I am glad that Spring is coming on though, sure is a nice time to hike.

Re: DOGWOODS BLOOMING
The white blooms that you are seeing right now may be service berries. Its still a week or two before the dogwoods start blooming, at least up here in Central Arkansas.
Something to look forward to is that the white bass usually start running around the same time that the dogwoods bloom, so I'll be getting out on the creeks pretty soon for that.

Re: DOGWOODS BLOOMING
Well, I let the coming rain scare me away from a Petite Jean hike last tues. And a camp trip got washed. But we DID go for a very muddy time in the crater of diamonds. I noticed down there much more was going on bloom and bud wise.
Dogwoods are hesitantly coming out finally at our place, and a few north of Clinton. Not full speed yet tho.

Clif,
Well if you were at the Crater you were close to us! Any way lots of dogwoods blooming around here. I hope to get up around Caney Creek Friday for a couple of days and I hope everything will be blooming.
