For those of you that use a compression stuff sack, what do you use?
We have two Campmor zero degree bags (650 fill) that needs to be
compressed.

Thanks,

OH

I use ripstop nylon stuff sacks, and the let all the stuff in my pack compress it down. My quilts are a the bottom of my pack, so they get compressed pretty good.

Tom.. I just use what ever I can find locally. I mean they are not rocket science. I dont use sil nylon for them though, and I try to find uncoated nylon if I want it to breathe a little. If I am going to pack it for like my down jacket and may need it to be water resistant then I would look at Sil or at the least coated. The interesting thing about uncoated nylon is that you can add some DWR coating with it in your washing machine and make it fairly water repelent that will last a fair while. Then when you need it as a uncoated again simply rewash it to get the stuff out. Fairly flexable stuff. Compression bags are not hard to make either. A bag with a few nylon straps with ladder locks on them is really all it is to them. The nice ones has a end cap on them but thats not really 100% nessasary. You can get by without them. Also you know there are vertical compression and there are horozonal compression. Sleep bags usually want the vertical. Thats from end to end. Hope I did not get to envolved. lol
