The following is from a emal from Ed Hawkins from Waldron. You might find interesting.

Trail volunteers section 3,
I took a little walk this morning miles 66-68 west of Foren Gap just to see how things looked after the ice event. Several inches of ice cubes on the trail, looks like someone left the ice machine on over night. This section is a North facing slope so "your" area may be quite different but miles 66-68 suffered a little damage. Six to 8 "new" trees down, several small trees pushed into the trail by the weight of the ice and of course lots of pine branches on the trail but not as bad as expected.
It would be great if within the next 7-10 days you could check out "your" section of trail and report any damage especially large trees down. If you will be unable to do the survey let me know and I will get someone to walk through and report back. If we have large numbers of trees down we need to organize a chainsaw crew to do the work so the more info we have the better.
Thanks, ed
