Re: Where is Everybody...?
Hey, that sounds great Figg. Have fun at Damascus.
Wow, 3 weekends of camping; must be nice. I'm planning on doing the Womble the week after next. That will probably be my first chance to get into the woods this fall. I'm excited!
Anyway, enjoy!

Re: Where is Everybody...?
I have noticed there is not much action on this forum anymore. It couldn't be my fault I have stayed away for awhile. Going climbing this weekend to enjoy the fall like weather. Going to continue to be active in the woods like the animal I am. If there are any climbers out there please tap in, I go quite often in the fall.
Re: Where is Everybody...?
Well as for me I have been extremely busy around here. Between school, the campground and starting to study for the comps I haven't even been online at night. I hope to get on a trail in the the next two weeks, probably in Caney Creek.

Re: Where is Everybody...?
How is the campground life going, I have always wanted to spend a season being a campground host. Do you enjoy it or does it take the fun out of camping for you?
Re: Where is Everybody...?
I am stuck at home with the kids trying to stay true to my nutrition. I have lost 12 pounds so far, and I had a good Tae-Kwon-Do class, where I jumped rope for 15 minutes ( I liked to die ). Now my calves are killing me, and I have a meeting all tomorrow morning. Oh well, at least I don't have to go around tomorrow trying to figure out who will win the razorback game.

Snow,
The campground life is fine. Not to many folks in the campground of late. All I have to do is check in the campers, I really don't have to clean up the place or fire pits, other folks do that. Our busy season is coming up when the modern deer hunt begins. There are clubs that lease land on either side of us that will use the campground as their base of operations. Some of them will be the whole season. Most of the time it is just us here. Nice and quiet. I hope to post some pics this weekend of the new camper, a Montana, and the campground. Right now we have two campers from TX. Should be some more folks coming in on Sat. If any of you guys ever make it over this way I have plenty of fire wood and more coming. Just let me know and I will leave the light on for you!

Re: Where is Everybody...?
Tom, I've been wanting to come down there and see you guys since our trek up Black Fork Mountain (ages ago, it seems).
What is the cost there per night? I may have to make a trip over there real soon.

Jay,
The rates are now $11.00 per night that is with water and elec. As of Nov. 1 winter rates will kick in and it is $4 or $8 per night. At least that is what the sign says. By the way all of the sites have water and elec. There are also two shower stalls. When it gets cold they will shut those down and drain the lines since they are stand alone units.
When the water is up we have kayakers here which makes for interesting viewing. Right now the water level is way down. As you can tell I am up early, couldn't sleep...
By the way there are a total of 12 sites. Two are pretty much occupied full time. So that leaves 10.

Re: Where is Everybody...?
Wow..that's really cheap. Awhile back I called around to a few campsites close to my home in Missouri and there were at least two campsites--count 'em TWO--that charged more than $30 per night for a site with electricity & water. One of them was $37 dollars. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT? I was like, "I could get a hotel room for that!"
Anyway, I'll be in Missouri this week, then I'll hit the Womble pretty soon after I come back, so it will probably be a few weeks. But I gotta come check the place out. I'll be in touch, sir!

Jay,
Well you will be welcome! This place is one of three sites on or around Dierks Lake. This is the cheapest because it isn't as developed or as heavily used. I like it better, at least you have a stream behind your campsite! Maybe you could come over for a nite or two and then we could go up to the Caney Creek area? In any case let me know.

Re: Where is Everybody...?
I don't care much for crowded campsites, so that sounds like my kind of place.
The Caney Creek idea sounds great. I'm yet to go in there, so it would be a treat. Let's do it in 2 or 3 weeks. We'll set an actual date when it gets closer.
Thanks Tom!

Re: Where is Everybody...?
By the way we are only aprox. 30 mins. drive from Caney Creek. And by the way in two weeks we play Mt. Ida so I will be in town on that Fri. night. The next game will be a Sat. game that I think I will have to go to even though Dierks will play Nashvilles JV.

Re: Where is Everybody...?
Haven't been doing anything but working here. We're moving to a new building and we have gone from 5 counselors to 2. So, for right now, I don't get to do anything but work.
