New ThermaRest Pads!
If you are considering buying a new ThermaRest Pad, you might want to wait just a little while. The new line of pads will be out soon.

Sounds like they will be both more comfortable (thicker) and lighter!

Re: New ThermaRest Pads!
Here's some more info on the new ThermaRest NeoAir air mattress. From the description, it does not appear to be a self-inflatable pad. It will have about the same R-value as the RidgeRest pad, so it may not be the warmest pad to use in the dead of winter. But if you're looking to lighten your load, this may be one way.
BTW, I've read where this is supposed to hit the market in April, 2009.
Enjoy!!
