Kyle.. naw.. even though I have been working in my shop about all week. It is a project in the works. lol I have been working on it for some time so its not something that I will have any results in any amount of time. lol. Its in phase two though.. lol. for what ever thats worth. I did run across a neat little pop can ach. stove with a simmer device added. Kind of neat.

Yeah there are a few models that I've seen/made with the simmer option. I would love to see what've got so far. This idea seems really awesome. What is it made of (you said only parts were soda cans)?
Re: Multi fuel soda can stove
Well this thing is a work in progress so things will change. Only the achl. burner is soda pop can. Typical design. Flip the stove over and place inside to burn ahcl. The other can is a standard #10 can. The feed door is on a track and can be used as a damper. The top or heat exchange part will be a thin stainless and will be almost like a hot plate when finished. Hell you could prob. cook right on it now that I think about it, lol. I am already looking at phase III and making the thing out of flat plate so it will break down and stow flat. So this is ever evolving.

Re: Multi fuel soda can stove
sounds awesome. Good luck with getting it done. I think I'm going to try to do a little thinking and tinkering to get something figured out about how to make a compact stove that'll burn denatured alcohol and wood. Thanks for the idea. Good Luck!
Re: Multi fuel soda can stove
At the same time? lol.. actually I have had good luck heating my shop with old moter oil and wood at the same time... actually have heated it on nothing but moter oil. WAYYYY to hot to cook on though.. lol.

Re: Multi fuel soda can stove
does that not put off a lot of harmful fumes either in your shop, or outside?
Re: Multi fuel soda can stove
Actually you can buy them commercially made. I copied the one I have from 2. I think the thing is that it burns so hot. It is made from a peice of 48" 1/2" thick pipe caseing. I have seen the thing cherry red at 80% up the front and back. My workers have lit cigars from the sides of it. Its so hot that I have seen guys with nylon jackets back up to it to get warm and not have a jacket left. They have exploded cans of open beans on it trying to warm them. It is HOT. It will heat a 40'x90' shop in 30degree weather to a comfotable 60 degrees at the far end. lol. I have seen brand new trucks that smoke more than this thing does. If it leaves anything thats harmful... I have yet to find it. The reason it gets that hot is I have a huge electric fan that blows across the drip pan. When starting the thing up it will smoke a little.. well mainly because it is a gress fire... lol. But as soon as that blower hits it, it will almost instantly burn a almost white hot. And will roar as it sucks in oxigen to fuel it. lol.

Re: Multi fuel soda can stove
Ok.. just had a chance to test this design of the camp stove. It roared once lit but was kind of hard to lite. The smaller the fuel the hotter the fire but almost instantly burned up all I had. I was in a hurry and had no themomiter with me but as soon as it fired up it started to rain hard. The resulting drops hit the top and sizziled as it fried. lol need to change a few things and go to phaze II.

This is a stove that I bought that has simmer capabilities. Maybe this will help give you an idea or two.

UL,
This is an awesome stove. I gotta get one so I can reverse engineer it to make one of my own.
Eddie,
I hear you with the 90s, its bad and only going to get worse. Don't get to close to the flame!
