Any one else make hammocks?
I have recently gotten into hammock camping (about 4 months ago), and love it. I'm not a hanging only kind of person, but lets just say I haven't used my tent in 4 months. So, I was wondering, are there any other hammockers on this forum, and if so, do you make your own hammocks?
Re: Any one else make hammocks?
I have looked into the Hennessy Hammocks before, but never broken down and purchased one. Does anyone have any experience with these hammocks?

Ouachita hiker has one. He was telling Jay about it here...http://arkansasbackcountry.com/ultralight-general-discussion-f11/and-so-the-quest-begins-t123.htm.You should talk to him.

To be honest, I haven't really found a hammock I haven't liked. I think they're all pretty comfortable. However, hennessy is one of the most popular producers of hammocks, but also check out speer hammocks, Jacks R Better, or make your own. There are some good websites that you can learn a lot from also. The best one that I've found is Just Jeff's Page, and it has a lot of awesome info.

Yep I do like hammocks! The wife and I both have HH Explorers. Just bought her a McCat Tarp
to replace the stock tarp. Haven't had it up yet. With all of these radical storms we have been
having lately I am reluctant to hang them for long. it has gotten were we can't get a good nights
rest in the backcountry without our hammocks. There is a balancing act that you must go thru as
to were it is better to hang or go to the ground. In the winter you can stay warm hanging but you
HAVE to experiment. The websites given above are all good, esp. Just Jeff's. The Hennessey's are
great but they do have durability issues of which I can discuss at a later date.
